Davit Systems
A removable davit is fixed to permanent sockets on the roof perimeter to suspend a worker for façade cleaning or maintenance. At the end of the work, the davit is dismantled and stored.
Davit anatomy
Select a component to see what it does, and rotate the arm to see how the davit reaches over the façade.
Height 1410 mm. Installed on a socket for the work, then dismantled and stored.
Redrawn from Hauteur's davit rope-access technical material.
Technical data
The exact system, components and inspection regime are confirmed by Hauteur's engineering team for each project.

The base design is adapted to the presence and thickness of waterproofing, with special attention to watertightness. Ground bases allow an invisible suspended access means on terraces accessible to the public.
| Reference | Mounting | Application |
|---|---|---|
| DAV007 | Ground base, 300 mm | Roofs with up to 100 mm of waterproofing |
| DAV008 | Ground base, 500 mm | Roofs with up to 350 mm of waterproofing |
| DAV009 | Parapet bracket | Any parapet at least 400 mm above the waterproofing; custom-made to the parapet |

Layout
Davit bases are installed at regular intervals, typically every 2 m. Spacing (S) is adjusted to the distance (D) between the base and the most protruding element of the façade, and to whether the davit is also used to replace windows.
The recommended minimum between façade and suspension point is 300 mm for rope access, and 600 mm with a one-person cradle.

No. Only the sockets are permanent. The davit arm is installed for the work and then dismantled and stored, leaving the roof clear.
The recommended minimum distance for rope access is 300 mm. When a one-person cradle is used, 600 mm is recommended.
Yes. The parapet bracket can be mounted on any parapet at least 400 mm above the waterproofing, and is custom-made to the parapet.
Share the roof plan and the work that needs to be done. Hauteur will review the roof and recommend davit, rope-access, lifeline or anchorage positions.

Rope access lets trained technicians reach façades directly on two independent ropes. The system on the roof decides how safely and how efficiently they can work.

Permanent anchor points give rope-access teams and maintenance staff a secure, tested connection to the structure.

Fixed-base systems suspend a cleaning cradle from outriggers anchored at the roof edge. Telescopic suspension adds reach where the parapet or façade line requires it.
